Paul Edwards at Lancashire 305-3 v Somerset
Alex Davies was leg before to Lewis Gregory for an excellent 130 a while back but Liam Livingstone purrs on to 133 and he has been joined by Rob Jones, a Lancashire loyalist to his marrow, who has avoided the pair and is batting very competently on 21 not out. This is hard pounding for Somerset's attack on a very firm pitch. One fancies Matt Maynard will learn more about his bowlers from this afternoon's cricket than he did when they were demolishing Lancashire for 109 on the first day.
George Dobell at Warwickshire (332) v Surrey (437)
Surrey lost their last seven wickets for 131 runs leaving Warwickshire facing a deficit of 105 when they start their second innings in a few minutes. I think Warwickshire will be pretty pleased with the way they bowled and Surrey… maybe they lacked just a bit of ruthlessness. At 267 for 2, it really did look as if they could gain a huge lead. Maybe they miss Zafar Ansari, replaced by Jade Dernbach in this match, for the extra batting.
