George Dobell at Warwickshire (332 and 58-2) v Surrey (437)
We’re in the middle of an excellent spell of bowling from Jade Dernbach. He dismissed Porterfield with one that nibbled away off the pitch and Trott with one that climbed sharply and took the shoulder of the bat on its way to first slip. Ian Bell has just late cut him for four – classic Bell – but it has been a good, disciplined, probing spell. The deficit is still 47.
Tim Wigmore at Essex 295 v Middlesex
Well bowled Steven Finn. He’s clean bowled Neil Wagner, to finish with 4-51 - and an economy rate of 2.30, the sort of which has rarely been true of Finn. He’s been terrific on a rather docile pitch, a sight that will hearten the England selectors no end. Now, with a lead of 212, will Middlesex enforce the follow on? You would certainly think so, especially with rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Dan Lawrence played commendably well for his 75, until succumbing playing across the line to Finn. We have tea now, and still more than 40 overs left.
@NickSharland: You're definitely at the ground Nick, and you're lucky to still be here after being dropped by Lewis McManus on 26.
Haha we've just had two people asking if it was Ballance that was dropped. And they're here watching! #FakeNews
