Middlesex should be declaring anyway. Just doing them a favour.

by Matt Warwick4/23/2017 5:19:14 PM
Matt - Yep I wonder if him or Trego would have got a go if the policies of this era were applied earlier, ie England did just go back to picking the Test side for a ODI. OUR BEST PLAYER ARE OUR BEST PLAYERS!
by nickcricket4/23/2017 5:18:52 PM
@MattRichardson Mark Butcher's never gotten over it #greatwhiteballrejects
by Russell Chapman4/23/2017 5:18:02 PM
Joking aside I am very surprised Stevens never got a white ball call up.

If they are going to bat him at 5 they may as well bring in a spinner no point having a specialist batmen to bat at 8 is there?
by nickcricket4/23/2017 5:17:00 PM
Yep, I'd forgotten Mo had 4 hundreds last year and averaged 45.

Our resident statsguru and heating system has swayed me. Fair enough, give him some time at five. But let's acknowledge that he's in there primarily as a batsman and bring a proper spinner if needed.
by StaggerBreaths4/23/2017 5:16:01 PM
Bally do you think Mr EskiNAZI's parents were wise to give him the initials SS?
by Russell Chapman4/23/2017 5:15:50 PM
@nickcricket No place for Stevens in that side?

by Russell Chapman4/23/2017 5:11:14 PM
Only Root, Bairstow & Cook scored more Test runs for England than Moeen last year. Only Kohli & Smith made as many Test centuries as him in 2016 (4). Deserves a consistent run in the top 6 this summer IMO.
by _hypocaust4/23/2017 5:10:29 PM
I like Matt's team anywhere it swings. Ballance 12th man, Wood > Anderson at Lord's or somewhere.

I don't know how to feel about Moe or Rashid these days to be honest... I really want to like Moe, but he's not exactly been a shining star of brilliance early season, and is tragically inconsistent at an international level.
by StaggerBreaths4/23/2017 5:06:42 PM
Cook, Hameed, Jennings, Root, Livingstone, Stokes, Bairstow, Ali (or Rayner/Leach), Woakes, Broad, Anderson for me.

by StaggerBreaths4/23/2017 5:05:29 PM
I'd have Jennings for Livingstone (and put Stokes at 7) but otherwise I like that team.
by David Taylor4/23/2017 5:05:27 PM
Jennings will almost certainly get picked Henry, he's been doing well in front of the selectors against Notts. Which is a good attack to make runs against, even in div. 2?
by StaggerBreaths4/23/2017 5:05:19 PM
will you be my character witness if i go down for GBH?
