David Hopps at Durham 2-0 v Yorkshire
Usual talk about Gravy Trains on the radio phone ins driving north to Chester-le-Street. I could have done with travelling by Gravy Train, with so many 50mph speed restrictions, but it does not seem to run in this area. The rant about Spanish Onions in the shops was also illuminating.
These Spanish Onions, they are bigger than the good old British Onion, and give you less cause to cry. Keaton Jennings could sympathise on both counts: he has seen the ball like a Spanish Onion all season, averages 62 and is a much improved player. No sob story there.
Scott Borthwick knows his onions - as his average of 82 testifies.
We had a stoppage for rain after one over but there is a hint of blue skies now. Perhaps summer is about to break through in these parts, although it will be a lot harder if weather from the continent is not allowed in any more.
Yorkshire have Andrew Gale at No. 6 and two inexperienced seam bowlers in Josh Shaw, whose loan spell at Gloucestershire has been terminated because of their injury problems, and Ben Coad.
