Jon Culley at Notts v Warwickshire 129-6 (43)
Jonathan Trott looked to be posing a real threat to Nottinghamshire's attempt to cash in on this morning's stupendous start. The former England batsman completed a half-century off 101 balls and had the look of permanency, taking Brett Hutton for four boundaries in as many balls to move serenely to 68. But Hutton has taken revenge in spectacular fashion. With Jackson Bird back at the Pavilion End, Trott was in difficulties for the first time, taking a painful blow on the upper thigh as umpire Jeff Evans turned down an appeal for leg before and then edging one that would have gone wide of the slips had Hutton not flung himself to his right to take a brilliant one-handed catch. It ended a stand of 57 with Chris Woakes, who then had a let-off when Michael Lumb spilled a catch at third slip off Hutton's bowling.
