David Lloyd at Sussex 254-6 v Surrey
Ed Joyce was clearly pleased to have lost the toss this morning, according to eye witness John Barclay (the former Sussex captain, ex-England tour manager and now director of cricket at the Castle Ground). And little wonder, having suffered horribly after inserting the opposition at Lord’s last week.
But while the old ‘good toss to lose’ saying sprung to mind, Surrey were suddenly the happier of the two sides when Prior and Brown fell in the space of 10 deliveries soon after tea to leave the hosts 206 for six.
There are few better men for a crisis right now than Luke Wright, though, and the hero of Lord’s took command again here.
