Tim Wigmore at Lancashire (157-6) v Surrey
After a bleak morning, Lancashire have approached the afternoon session in enterprising mood, counterpunching smartly. Ryan McClaren played pugnaciously until being snared lbw by a quicker ball from Gareth Batty - he did not look best pleased with the decision, and it looked as if there was an inside edge. Jordan Clark has followed McClaren’s lead, and smote Batty for an emphatic straight six in between some dexterous sweeping. All the way Shivnarine Chanderpaul has remained, playing the ball late and with great care, cutting the ball precisely in between leaving the ball judiciously. Lancashire will need much more if they are to haul themselves up to a competitive score, though.
Disappointing end for James Hildreth as he pulls a short ball from Jamie Porter down long leg's throat
