@GeorgePotter19: we'll never get that fat sound without those horns.

It's fantastic that Notts are streaming this game, but for a Sussex fan it's tough watching our young bowlers spraying it all over the pitch... Maggo bowling superbly, the kids bowling at village standard so far. Not pretty.

@JamieDow I bet Curran is right up there even after averaging 45 last year
@KartikeyaJunejanew I would imagine Dernbach is a LONG way back in the queue

Karty... no. Just no.

Dernbach for shorter formats?

Middlesex v Essex
Five of the last eight encounters between these counties, with Middlesex as the home side, have ended in a draw; Middlesex claiming two victories and one for Essex in that time.
Middlesex are the only unbeaten side since the start of the 2016 campaign (W6 D11).
Alastair Cook has averaged 89.4 in the County Championship since the start of last season for Essex (13 innings).
Sam Robson (Middlesex) has registered a century in his last two matches against Essex (146 in May 2011 & 110 in August 2009).

@NemoUKS No chance!

Lyth's not coming back (though it pains me to say it). Robson might. Vince or Ballance might (though less likely, imo). I wonder who else could make a comeback.

Not Lyth, he's nowhere near back in form. And if fielding standards are a symbol of confidence...
by StaggerBreaths4/21/2017 1:52:42 PM
Who are the capped but dropped players most likely? Robson, Ansari, Lyth?
by Kieran Layer4/21/2017 1:51:55 PM
And Shantry isn't playing. Never mind.

@StaggerBreaths No, the ECB hasn't been dissolved (optional: in acid)

Hang on, I get it. We're all trapped inside one of George Dobell's dreams again, aren't we.
by StaggerBreaths4/21/2017 1:50:31 PM
Elgar 0 off 9 by the way, he could be a new Bally Bingo character if the original won't stop sloggin'

You ask which uncapped Eng player might push into the test side this season. But I think that at least as interesting is the question of which already-capped-but-not-currently-regular Eng test players will push back into the side. There are a few lurking.

He was my pick for first wicket of the day. Safely proven wrong.
