George Dobell at Warwickshire (35-0) v Surrey
Ian Westwood has hit five fours. Which sounds good, doesn’t it? But three of them have been through the slips to one of the shortest boundaries you’ll see. The latest one, though, was gorgeous: a flowing drive through the covers. Classic Westwood, really. Porterfield has just clipped perilously close to Footitt at square leg. He also accidently ran into Sam Curran and knocked him off his feet. Probably the most inconvenienced a bowler has been by a Warwickshire batsman this season. Warwickshire are using this side of the square as it dries out quicker than the other side and they have a huge amount of cricket here this season.
Paul Edwards at Lancashire 12-2 v Somerset
Somerset's decision to bowl first this morning has already begun to be justified by the dismissals of both openers for nought inside the first quarter of an hour. Haseeb Hameed received a very fine delivery from Josh Davey which he edged to Steven Davies and Alex Davies was taken at second slip by Marcus Trescothick, also off Davey, 17 balls later. Somerset's decision to play Davey in place of Roelof van der Merwe was probably quite straightforward but we are still unsure - injury, selectorial preference - why Tim Groenwald has taken the place of Jamie Overton. This is precisely the sort of situation made for Shivnarine Chanderpaul but he has been ruled out of this match by a hamstring injury. Rob Jones is included instead.
