@DerekGrabham: Useful for their T20 experience. But again, it comes at a cost of them not playing red ball.

The IPL is more about learning to play in front of big crowds and the pressure of being an overseas players, the pitches are standard batting tracks. They don't spin anymore than pitches here

by Lawrence Payne4/7/2017 11:01:36 AM
@Lawrence Payne To be honest the article twists his word a bit with the headline, he says he's more technically correct if I remember right
by Steve Parson4/7/2017 11:02:21 AM
Yes, on some aspects, the captain do not put enough trust in our spinners which can be a dangerous attribute. WE have to include the spinners in the CC and utilize them in all conditions. Derek Underwood was deadly in wet conditions. Why can we learn from this? We have Emburey and Edmonds and Swann in the past. Who do we have now in the same calibre of those who are just mentioned? No-one.

Chanderpaul has 73 first-class centuries but doesn't get into the Lancs top 4? Croft is in instead...
by Alex Thomas4/7/2017 11:03:26 AM
@Steve Parson Indeed. And I'm more technically correct as a batsman than either Steve Smith or Shiv Chanderpaul. Doesn't make me better...

I like Crane from Hampshire. He is quirky, offering something different, we should take and try to mould him into a Test class bowler.
by Derek Grabham4/7/2017 11:05:03 AM
Chanderpaul will bat at 5 regardless of anything. Doesn't matter what the sport it is. Crane as potential. Hopefully he'll get a game soon. Starting to regret taking Nathan Buck out of my fantasy team.
