Going with Reece for the first wicket, though common sense says OHD.

Vithushan Ehantharajah at Sussex 291 & 11-0 v Kent 304 & 413-5d
So Kent have declared. Sussex need loads or an epic riposte while Kent just need 10 chances for a second Championship victory of the season. Wayne Parnell has opened the bowling from the Cromwell Road End (running downhill), while Matt Coles is coming uphill from the Sea End. Last night, Sam Northeast asked for a bit of cloud cover. Turns out someone up top is a fan of his.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE TWO HOURS MAKE: 9am v 11am

Yes that is true, always a chance even in the forecast is set fair. Anyone want to have a punt of first wicket of the day? Should have been wood by the sound of it
by nickcricket4/17/2017 10:11:38 AM
I guess the only thing that changes that 'have a slog and not come back tomorrow' is if there's bad weather around and the slightest possibility that the next day(s) could be completely rained off

Anyone know anyone at the ECB to ask who a Hampshire 2nd XI batsmen got on a Lions tour ahead of Sam Northeast?
by nickcricket4/17/2017 10:08:25 AM
You often see it in Test Cricket, once a side might lose a day early they usually do. I guess so only two Warks bats had to prepare and Yorkshire probably had to do a full warmup
by nickcricket4/17/2017 10:06:22 AM
Footitt actually did that at the Oval a couple of years ago when playing for Derby. The game had gone into the extra half hour and he came out and had a slog. I doubt if he got into trouble for it.
by David Taylor4/17/2017 10:03:48 AM
I suppose Warks are at home though, you couldn't blame them if they had a long journey ahead. As it is they've just inconvenienced Yorkshire.
by David Taylor4/17/2017 10:01:58 AM
True. I would save the hassle coming to the groud for just one wicket left
by Kartikeya Juneja new4/17/2017 9:57:25 AM
If I had been on of Warks tailenders at 9 down last night I would have been tempted play a few shots knowing it would save me coming back today
by nickcricket4/17/2017 9:56:21 AM
Morning everyone. Hope we can see a good day of cricket
by Kartikeya Juneja new4/17/2017 9:40:41 AM
Morning Everyone, On Warks bit to early to say anyone is a relegation favourite but obviously they need a quick turnaround in fortunes. In a way they remind me a bit of Notts, not in the way they have started because Notts had a good start last summer but in that they have quite a few established pros who many don't have a lot of goals left and nobody really banging the door to get in
by nickcricket4/17/2017 9:30:44 AM
I guess it depends how many wickets Abbott has left in him for this game. Hard to imagine they'll be all out by lunch....I'll be following from a far today, until after tea......
by sjcox1204/17/2017 9:27:04 AM
Morning all. Important morning in Southampton. If Hants can get a couple of early wickets the possibility of back to back wins is certainly there.
