Vilas just put down Trego - very difficult chance at gully.

Certainly a different era David Taylor.

The flat pitch didn't help Root and Bairstow much
by Paul Wilson4/24/2017 1:58:26 PM
Okay that might be game over :/ We haven't played brilliantly at times but Somerset are getting somewhat buggered by England players at the moment
by Mark Ofield4/24/2017 1:58:03 PM
@nickcricket backfired is the wrong word. It's not helping at the minute though
by GeorgePotter194/24/2017 1:57:52 PM
Matt Richardson - Bransgrove being hauled away by the pitch inspectors "I would have got away with it if it wasn't for that pesky Ballance"
by nickcricket4/24/2017 1:57:47 PM
Unlucky there. A grubber

If anyone would have done that it would have been Goochie. Someone at the ECB might actually have a stroke if an England player did that now.

One keeps low and Davies is gone!!

Good to see Jimmy Anderson getting some wickets
by Paul Wilson4/24/2017 1:57:16 PM
GeorgePotter19 - They prepared a flat wicket for a draw and at worst they will get one sounds like mission accomplished to me

I can't say for certain David Taylor, but that does ring a bell. Could have been in the 80's after a defeat to the Windies, I think John Emburey may have done the same.
by Dave Knibb4/24/2017 1:56:38 PM
To be fair I don't think anyone was counting on Ballance. He's faced over 500 balls now across both innings.
by Matt Richardson4/24/2017 1:56:37 PM
@MattWarwick We prepared a dead pitch to counter Yorks' strengths and it's backfired
by GeorgePotter194/24/2017 1:55:35 PM
On a similar tack, you might be able to help me out with this - did Graham Gooch once play for England and Essex on the same day? I have a feeling it was a Test match which finished early on the Sunday, followed by a 40 over game for Essex. Did it happen?
by David Taylor4/24/2017 1:54:31 PM
Even my optimism is fading now for a Hampshire victory.
by Matt Warwick4/24/2017 1:54:25 PM
What about that series in Sri Lanka a few years back where England got a lot of dodgy decisions and I think Graeme Hick was not pleased.
by Yaacov4/24/2017 1:54:14 PM
He was 51* for Leicestershire, played for Doncaster that evening, then completed his century the next morning

The Yorkshire 300 was brought up off a proper pie by Dawson, Watch out Bally he is luring you into a false sense of security

Crikey David Taylor, that was quick...Chris Balderstone
by Dave Knibb4/24/2017 1:52:43 PM
Or Arnie Sidebottom?
