Notts 110-4 v Northants
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Notts were reduced to 110 for four at lunch, with Azharullah claiming three of the wickets to fall, all within the space of 11 deliveries.
Jake Libby, who spent the early part of last season on loan with Northants, made 14 before falling to Richard Gleeson after an hour at the crease.
Azharullah then made decisive inroads, bowling Cheteshwar Pujara and Samit Patel, before having Alex Hales taken by Alex Wakeley at second slip.
Steven Mullaney survived the carnage and had moved on to an unbeaten 56 at the interval.
