Paul Edwards at Essex v Middlesex 158-4
A relatively short innings of exceptional judgement ended a few moments ago when Dawid Malan was caught at the wicket by James Foster off Simon Harmer for 60. Malan had added 124 with Stevie Eskinazi and it took a ball which both turned and bounced to get him out. We take Foster's excellence behind the stumps for granted, of course. Paul Stirling has now lifted Harmer for a straight six and swept him square for four but is chancing his arm a little. As I write Eskinazi has gone too, caught at slip by Cook off Porter for 66. There's about 2000 spectators here and we await the post-prandial influx.
