Not even the spinner!

I assume Middlesex will be keeping a careful watch on their over rate.

@GeorgePotter19 Crossbow sales in the UK have gone up 10,000%

And so it begins.

Let's be realistic, we were never in danger for this round after scraping that win vs Warks
by Joe Williams9/25/2017 3:51:26 PM
I think it would be great if relegation was decided by who out of Somerset and Hampshire can get the other's game abandoned soonest
by GeorgePotter199/25/2017 3:51:09 PM
Yep, Yorkshire need one more bonus point to guarantee safety
by Will Colwell9/25/2017 3:50:49 PM
yeah Yorkshire only need the 3 bowling points now
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 3:50:09 PM
Yorkshire needed 6 bonus points at the start but I guess now Somerset haven't got full batting points its less?
by nickcricket9/25/2017 3:49:54 PM
Anybody in the Warwickshire area know of a good crossbow retailer?
by Will Colwell9/25/2017 3:49:32 PM
Get Strauss out there, tell him his city T20 has been cancelled, and let him cry.
by StaggerBreaths9/25/2017 3:49:18 PM
Leach already turning it, with bounce as well
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 3:49:09 PM
So back to my swimming pool idea, anyone know how to get the water on the Edgbaston pitch without the ECB noticing
by nickcricket9/25/2017 3:48:50 PM
Rained out game is 5 points, not sure why abandonments really need to be listed separately to drawn matches
by Joe Tompkins9/25/2017 3:48:33 PM
I'll bet on 8-for-1 showing up.
by StaggerBreaths9/25/2017 3:48:28 PM
Yorkshire get another wicket to stay up?
by John Lillie9/25/2017 3:48:14 PM
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 3:47:49 PM
Anyone seriously surprised by this? I'll wage that Stirling will, at 100-odd for 5, do exactly what Somerset's back end were admonished for.
by StaggerBreaths9/25/2017 3:47:40 PM
I think maximum bowling points *should* be a given. The win, less so...

by nickcricket9/25/2017 3:47:03 PM
Jack Leach is opening the bowling

George Dobell at Somerset (236) v Middlesex (0-0)
Somerset opening with spin in the form of Leach. But Middlesex need 250 to guarantee their survival in the top division.
by George.Dobell9/25/2017 3:46:47 PM
So what you are saying is all we need to do is a get a couple of swimming pools worth of water on the edgbaston pitch for the next two days all all is well?
by nickcricket9/25/2017 3:45:44 PM
@NemoUKS Not if Somerset win with max bowling points
by GeorgePotter199/25/2017 3:45:42 PM
Don't you just get 5 points for an abandonment?
by Will Colwell9/25/2017 3:45:36 PM
I wouldn't *mind* Them being credited back tbh, they were totally unreasonable in the first place. Doing it after the end of the season though...
by NemoUKS9/25/2017 3:45:29 PM
Is an abandonment not worth enough points to keep them up?
by NemoUKS9/25/2017 3:45:03 PM
@WillColwell yes they would indeed, had confused Middx's and Hants' points, so yes a 3 BP draw......wonder what chance of a total wash out at another outground
by Joe Williams9/25/2017 3:43:15 PM
those 2 points will be credited back just wait
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 3:41:45 PM
Wouldn't Hampshire need 8 points to overtake Somerset who would be on 147 if they win with full bowling points? Meaning they would need a 3 bonus point draw
by Will Colwell9/25/2017 3:41:32 PM
You'd have to say that there is now a very good chance that Middlesex go down based on those two points, which seem to have been an admin error followed by the ECB being pigheaded about it. I can't imagine that will be recrimination free if it happens.
by NemoUKS9/25/2017 3:40:51 PM
@GeorgePotter Crossbows permitting
by NemoUKS9/25/2017 3:39:33 PM
@GeorgePotter19 Hants could lose and stay up with 4 Bps I think
by Joe Williams9/25/2017 3:39:25 PM
UPDATE: Play due to restart at 4:40pm, Essex 184/8 (61.2 ov) v Yorkshire
by ESPNcricinfo Live9/25/2017 3:38:51 PM
If Midds make 250, they can't finish below Somerset. If Hampshire don't lose over the next 3 days at Edgbaston, they only need 3 bonus points to stay up (ie bowling out Warks in 110 overs)
