and Rashid should have been in test side not Crane, as you said could have played for Hants then
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 4:27:37 PM
Fair point about the first three games and last week but him his limited amount of playing time is not all down to Hampshire
by IanPearce1009/25/2017 4:26:32 PM
played more game for his Aussie side in last 12 months
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 4:25:53 PM
Crane clearly has a bit about him otherwise he wouldn't have been picked as an overseas for the Shield in the winter, however completely agree that he shouldn't be in the test team right now. Leave that spot open for someone doing the business week in week out. If only we had someone like that.
by Matt Richardson9/25/2017 4:25:41 PM
Ian is right though, he was on 12th man England duty for that game, so 'not picked' isn't accurate
by Will Colwell9/25/2017 4:24:52 PM
Hampshire did not pick him start season or last game
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 4:24:23 PM
That is basically the extent of the argument.
by StaggerBreaths9/25/2017 4:23:38 PM
@WillColwell There wasn't a game for him to be picked in between the 0/61 and 3/27 unless you were talking about the tests. He would have played more but he was carrying drinks for England
by IanPearce1009/25/2017 4:23:33 PM
How long till Voges edges one of those from Leach? Seems like he's beating the bat every ball.
by ARRGpocalypse9/25/2017 4:23:26 PM
Shane Warne says so.
by StaggerBreaths9/25/2017 4:23:23 PM
honestly I think he's at a pretty good position for a legspinner of his age. Just absolutely no rush for him to be anywhere near the England side
by Will Colwell9/25/2017 4:23:21 PM
I feel like I'm missing something when people say that Mason Crane should be picked for England.
by baptrimble9/25/2017 4:23:00 PM
Mr Crane needs change of home venue, somewhere with someone who might bowl him
by Lawrence Payne9/25/2017 4:22:24 PM

Agreed - if the ball is jumping all over the place and breaking fingers then yep, dangerous pitch. You can't just punish a team for having better spinners.

Somerset to be batting again before stumps? :P

If I tell you that people are looking up Middlesex’s lowest total against Somerset…. It’s 52, by the way. In Bath in 1952.

Acrimonious from who?
by Joe Williams9/25/2017 4:12:22 PM
Just me who genuinely doesn't see a problem with teams preparing pitches to play to their strengths? Surely if it's a variable you're in control of - and the pitch is legal and not unsafe - there shouldn't be a problem.
by Matt Richardson9/25/2017 4:12:21 PM
Middlesex to throw the game so Somerset get points deducted for a poor pitch?
by baptrimble9/25/2017 4:12:13 PM
Hmm. Obviously I want to win but I feel that this could get acrimonious.
