Another wicket for Notts, but they should really have Sussex five-down, here. Chris Nash flayed to point to give Steven Mullaney his second wicket of the innings. But the Hooters-sponsored allrounder should have had another, when Delray Rawlins pulled straight to Che Pujara at a catching midwicket. It was hit well enough, but Pujara should have got a bit more behind the ball and seen the England U19 batsman off. Since then, Rawlins has... well, struggled on. He's just been hit on the exposed bit of the back thigh which, in these conditions, must be like stepping on a plug while getting your fingers trapped in a deckchair. After 15 balls of scratching around, he hits Brett Hutton over mid on to get off the mark with a four.

We’ve had a moment of controversy here. Hildreth, on 33, edged one off Patel and Robson, at slip, signalled it had been caught cleanly. Hildreth disagreed and, after conferring, the umpires agreed with him. We’ve watched it on replay several times and opinion in the press box is divided.

Sent back by Hildreth – some might say ‘stuffed by Hildreth’ – after attempting the first few yards of a second, he was punished by a fine throw running in from backward square by Ravi Patel. How vital might that prove? You’d think Somerset required at least three batting bonus points.

Onions must have some idea of his other options other than taking the one year + option that Durham offered. A pace bowler at his age, a two year contract is a risk and like @JoeWilliams says I bet he is towards the top of the pay scale up there

Onions strikes me as being a bit of a Notts - Sidebottom case, but he does have quite a bad injury record and will prob be a top earner, tough call for them

Notts have one of their 12 bonus points. Luke Wood and Brett Hutton nabbed two of the three wickets, opening the bowling with sound control, knowing the pitch and conditions are helpful enough to reward their diligence. Harry Finch edged behind – what a horrendous summer he's had – before Phil Salt struck a half-volley off Brett Hutton to Pujara at cover. Challenging Finch for season of dismay is Laurie Evans, who played across the line for one – Steven Mullaney with that one. He's averaging five from seven Championship innings...

Would be a good day for Denly to make his 10,000 - he wants 33 more. How many others on the circuit have done that without playing a Test - Mitchell, Hildreth, Adams? Must be a few more.
