Vithushan Ehantharajah at Sussex 24-2 v Kent 304
Controversy here at Hove as, for a second day running, only the Sussex flag flies above the scoreboard. A representative from Kent has told me the club are looking into it. In the meantime, a cat is being used instead (don't worry – cat's can't feel pain. They're soulless).
It's been a brisk start for Harry Finch who has done well to absorb most of the strike so far, to take himself to 15. He hit 11 off three consecutive Matt Coles deliveries in the previous over. His partner, nightwatchman Ajmal Shahzad, can certainly do a job. In fact, our man David Hopps once wrote about how Shahzad's early coaches reckoned he had the capacity to develop into a genuine allrounder. He's still scoreless after 15 balls.
Just as I finished that paragraph, Finch is back in the changing rooms, bowled by an inswinging delivery from Wayne Parnell that left only off stump standing. Parnell immediately turned and pointed to Darren Stevens standing at mid off.
