George Dobell at Warwickshire (178) v Yorkshire (0-0)
Testing first over from Keith Barker. Beat Adam Lyth with a peach first up and then drew the edge from the final ball of the over. But so soft were Lyth’s hands the ball bounced just in front of Trott in the slips. Fine batting and bowling. Trott, though, has left the field for treatment on his hand.

Hello from Edgbaston. Apologies for the late start; been deep in conversation with the groundsman. James Whitaker is here in the press box now, too, watching David Willey’s return to action. Warwickshire have been bowled out for the second game in succession without gaining a single batting bonus point. This morning they lost Chris Wright, playing all around a straight one from Ben Coad, and Keith Barker, having recorded has his second Championship half-century of the season, taking a swing at a wide one from Tim Bresnan. It also means Coad has his second five-for of the campaign. He’ll be hard to leave out once Sidebottom, Brooks, Plunkett et al return. But it’s a long season and such strength in depth bodes well for Yorkshire.
