Leaning did get a ton at OT but its hard not to feel he is the start of the tail for Yorkshire. Hopefully Yorkshire can keep the game moving forward without squandering the postion they have got themselves in

@nickcricket I don't know.

Ballance goes, this could bring a fe quick wickets
@vinamaipo1 Hildreth turned it down. Not sure Trego is captain material.
by Geoff Eisenhauer6/3/2017 10:36:01 AM
I thought Hildreth and Trego had turned it down?
by nickcricket6/3/2017 10:35:31 AM
@nickcricket I didn't realise that none of them want to be captain. I assumed Abell was simply Maynard's choice.
by vinamaipo16/3/2017 10:34:54 AM
Hose got a ton in the RLODC so its not like there isn't talent around, quite a senior batting lineup none of whom want to be captain

@vinamaipo1 I hope Bartlett gets a go before the end of the season.

Gregory double his average at moment, Somerset should get their 1 batting point :)
by Lawrence Payne6/3/2017 10:30:35 AM
@nickcricket They have some great young talent in the 2nd XI at the moment, in particular George Bartlett, but probably too early to thrust them into a struggling environment. I'm convinced we will go down, our batting has been fragile for three or four seasons now.
by vinamaipo16/3/2017 10:30:24 AM
Hopefully one or two of the Somerset top 6 can gets some runs in the second innings because at the moment its hard to know who to drop
by nickcricket6/3/2017 10:25:55 AM
Somerset tried to turn Gregory into an number 6 last year didn't they but it didn't work out. Its a shame there is batting talent down the order there when Craig Overton plays but you wouldn't want any of them batting higher than 7 because they are not consistent enough
by nickcricket6/3/2017 10:24:09 AM
@nickcricket Morning. I was at Lords yesterday and he played some nice shots under pressure. Get the feeling though that from Trego onwards, the Somerset batting line up is probably one place too high in the order. Trego is not a number 6 and Gregory probably an 8. Makes it even more painfully obvious when Abell, Davies and Hildreth can't buy a run.
by vinamaipo16/3/2017 10:21:51 AM
hoping Gregory can get some runs, only watched him on the TV but think he is too good a player to average 19 with the bat
by nickcricket6/3/2017 10:19:19 AM
Ballance has brought up 600 runs for the CC season which is a milestone we were all counting towards...
