A few first team players usually play the tour matches/A Sides. Lees could use a extra white ball game. Carver and Patto might get in the blast team. Not sure, Yorkshire should have everyone but YJB and Root so maybe not
by nickcricket5/27/2017 10:50:58 AM
Batting points are for wimps and losers. Somerset got enough for an innings win already.

Lees and Leaning get naughty boy nets almost, Only 1st team batters in the side against SA A
by Lawrence Payne5/27/2017 10:47:40 AM
Shame the matches are so far apart and there was a bit of uncertainty about Stokes fitness, should have sent Bairstow for a hit against SA A. If England win today, he might play at Lords as two games in three days might be too much for Stokes. If SA win then could be the 13th of June against Surrey for his next Cricket, England could still be in the CT but they don't play that day

Well seeing England have no intention of picking Johhny, let him play the 1 day cup games. That way he gets to keep his match fitness

And there isn't a like for like replacement going into a major comp, Yes Bairstow has opened in a few games this summer but that isn't really experience to dislodge Roy. Billings did the role I would think his open score wasn't much better than 52
by nickcricket5/27/2017 10:33:59 AM
@nickcricket yeah definitely - look how fearlessly Mo batted in the last game knowing his place wasn't under threat
by Will5/27/2017 10:33:39 AM
Yeah, not idea but they are not going to drop him and they shouldn't part of giving players security is putting up with someone who isn't contributing. While the side is winning they can afford it, Morgan good example was a passenger in 2016 now 3 tons in 8 games.

Wasn't sure there would be a blog, often isn't when England are playing. Decent ball Roy got, feel he is suffering from a lack of Cricket after playing just three games at the IPL (one he batted in the late middle order). Some players need to play, think Roy is one of them
