Paul Edwards at Durham 199-6 v Nottinghamshire
Keaton Jennings is batting with the sort of authority that kindles seemingly forlorn hopes. He has added only 19 runs to his overnight 62 but 16 of those runs have come from boundaries, all of them executed with precision and clear purpose. His defensive play has been quite as clear-minded and he is currently in partnership with Stuart Poynter, who is unbeaten on 17.
The wicket to fall was that of Ryan Pringle, who swished cluelessly across the line at Jake Ball and had his stumps wrecked. Pringle made 2 but Durham's lead is now 56 and another couple of hours' batting should at least leave us with a contest.
