dave - Well exactly, I wonder if their days playing the county first XI might be numbered. In this packed schedule I struggle with the fact that all 18 counties aren't playing CC games this weekend.

They only allow each MCCU two first class matches, when they used to all be first class until they expanded the number of teams. It makes no sense, personally I think it increases a bit of interest if they have first class but at the same time they are not professional matches so really none should be

afternoon all. Good to have cricket and the blog back - happy days. Anyone know why this round of University matches isn't first class, but the last round was? Always frustrates me that Somerset dont get a first class Uni match, so the players can swell their averages, when other Counties do. Judging by the rounds results, they should probably remove first class status from all the games! Utterly terrible, bar Loughborough i suppose
