@dezdezzy Not sure, I remember him sitting by the pitch and the Sky people talking to him. Maybe he was just watching and wearing an ear piece.

If I were Somerset I would bat on but at risk mode set to 11, which is a shame for the batsmen who haven't got any runs this season. Get 350 declare, Yorkshire play their favorite card trick and collapse and then everyone watches Ballance block all afternoon on the telly

@nickcricket - is it some of the Middlesex 2nd XI? I remember Surrey's young'uns had that opportunity with the Pakistan Oval Test last year and wasn't there a young Lankie sub that fielded quite well at OT too?

Glad we are back to having proper substitute fielders, surprised England haven't started carrying round a 15 man squad just so Chris Jordan can be at first slip off the spinner
by nickcricket7/6/2017 9:41:04 AM
@nickcricket - he bowls so slow he could overtake the ball in flight, put the gloves on and field the ball

@dezdezzy The one Yorkshire played on did start keeping low, well that is what the comms said but with Yorkshire's batting they can make concrete look like a minefield

Recent Lords wickets have actually started to deteriorate towards the end of the game so could be a good toss to win if England make the most of Day 1 batting
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 9:35:49 AM
I'm presuming that means uneven bounce rather than spin or anything fairer.

Will is at Lords today so I am pleased he will get a chance to watch Gary Ballance block, Root says he thinks the pitch will deteriorate, so Mick Hunt must have prepared it different to the First Class wickets

England are batting

Does seem strange actually that there's no back-up keeper in the squad - on a serious note who would take over if Bairstow had to go off mid-match - Gazza? Cook?

Not as good as the squirrel last year, but hey ho.

@dezdezzy Must be, with Liam Dawson at five

Desperate to find away in for him...
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 9:27:39 AM
Ok, so TRJ will be keeping then?
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 9:27:17 AM
The Daily Mail (Its Lawrence Booth, who is far too good for them) are saying yesterday Bairstow got pinned on the foot by a Yorker from Tendulkar's son in the nets and hobbled off.

Spidercam, spidercam, does whatever a spider can. Sees the match, records it all, hit by six, creates dead ball. Look oooooooout, don't hit the spidercam.

You know the drill. And if you don't there are loads of lovely people here you can ask*

Morning... I sent a note to Gnasher on the Test match feedback to ask Hoppsy to get this up and running, and a few minutes later it worked! Probably just coincidence - sorry to be so impatient!
