I found it disturbing that in most of the Champion's Trophy games, they couldn't even bowl 15 overs per hour, I thought that captain's would be suspended for that sort of thing.

unlucky number time 255 for final fantasy gamers
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 4:03:21 PM
@Nick I do get it you know...
by Dave Knibb7/6/2017 4:01:55 PM
A certain number of days a year i think is agreement so presume test matches
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 4:00:59 PM
Well it ends at 6:30 anyway. Ridiculous.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 4:00:45 PM
They can, they are just limited per number of days a year and you would like a crowd of this size would be worth turning them on if there is a chance they might have to give refunds and give the slow over rate...
by nickcricket7/6/2017 4:00:19 PM
Can they Lawrence? Good to know that some sense prevails...
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 4:00:05 PM
Cook got 173 against Bangladesh in the first innings of his first match as captain on that tour. but he didn't get one in the first innings as full time captain only making 41 against India in that famous 2012 series but he did get one in the match getting 176 in the second innings.
by nickcricket7/6/2017 3:58:33 PM
thought they could for test matches?
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 3:58:16 PM
Shouldn't be any need
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 3:56:34 PM
Speaking of fining, of course they can't use floodlights at Lord's either.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:56:05 PM
Somerset Cricket 🏏 ✔ @SomersetCCC
"REPORT: Somerset record fine @CountyChamp victory over Yorkshire at Scarborough." This confused me for a minute thought what they losing money for?
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 3:55:22 PM
END OF INNINGS: Surrey 166/3 declared (52 ov, lead by 1 - 2nd inns) v Hampshire DP Sibley 12* (29) JJ Roy 37* (74)
by ESPNcricinfo Live7/6/2017 3:55:04 PM
So Cook scored a century in his first game as captain twice...is that like Stokes scoring two 50's today?
by Dave Knibb7/6/2017 3:54:41 PM
Liam 'Jadeja' Dawson to the fore!
by nickcricket7/6/2017 3:54:35 PM
Still looking flat as f**k. Although not quite as flat as Cheltenham... but flatter than Lord's.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:54:32 PM
Ball reversing too, somehow i think this is a results pitch at Lords for once
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 3:54:19 PM
@StaggerBreaths - they didn't require 499 just to avoid a follow on though
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 3:53:23 PM
Philander getting reverse. Well well. Interesting pitch. Bit subcontinental.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:53:18 PM
Perhaps Roots 2 spinner theory wasn't so bad if it's going to turn like that
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 3:52:59 PM
Except Hampshire's bats did the same, so probably just a flatty.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:52:26 PM
@StaggerBreaths Dangerous, he's been right twice in one day

Bailey bowling at the Oval. Sign of a job well done by Surrey's batsmen.
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 3:51:42 PM
RESULT: Match drawn Surrey 166/3 (52 ov, lead by 1 - 2nd inns) v Hampshire

Bunsen by day three. Five-fer for Dawson.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:51:37 PM
@StaggerBreaths Yes, he was captain on the field in Bangladesh when Strauss was rested so on the stats that is his first game as Captain on the stats page but for me he wasn't Captain until he had be appointed full time which happened after the SA series in 2011
by nickcricket7/6/2017 3:51:10 PM
@LawrencePayne - turned a fair bit too!
by dez dezzy7/6/2017 3:50:54 PM
I'm sure Strauss scored a hundred on debut and as captain
END OF INNINGS: Kent 184/3 declared (58 ov, lead by 317 - 2nd inns) v Northants JL Denly 78* (172) AP Rouse 8* (20)
by ESPNcricinfo Live7/6/2017 3:49:34 PM
Doesn't Nick mean that Cook filled in as captain at one point and scored a ton there too?
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:49:28 PM
Wow a ball turned at Lords!
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 3:49:10 PM
@StaggerBreaths The ICC don't care, we talk about it every year and nothing happens what amuses me is Graves wants 4 day Cricket. Needs to have a word with Root when England are also going at 12.5 overs tomorrow
by nickcricket7/6/2017 3:49:06 PM
Might be unique stat Nick
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 3:48:28 PM
@Nick What don't you get about 'first game as captain'...lol
by Dave Knibb7/6/2017 3:47:47 PM
Yes 100 on debut as player and then again as captain
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 3:47:05 PM
Five'll work. I think anything over one'll probably work.
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:46:59 PM
@LawrencePayne Cook might have done it twice, because his first match as Captain wasn't is first match as full time captain but he did get a hundred in the first Test in India in 2012 didn't he?
by nickcricket7/6/2017 3:46:24 PM
i suggested 5 per over earlier what you think?
by Lawrence Payne7/6/2017 3:46:24 PM

I'm agreeing with Vaughan now... Talking about run penalties for slow over rates. -_-
by StaggerBreaths7/6/2017 3:45:48 PM
Yep this is definitely the right time of day for England to be accelerating, but pick the right ball
