Gloucestershire 117-6 need 351 to beat Sussex
Not for the first time this season Jofra Archer appeared to be the most likely player to lead Sussex to victory. He had taken two of the three wickets to fall before lunch and after the break he took a stunning catch above his head long-leg, avoiding the ropes by inches, to dismiss Phil Mustard off the bowling of Chris Jordan.
Then, just before tea, he took an even better catch, again at long-leg and again off Jordan, this time diving forward to catch George Hankins for 51 scored over an obdurate two hours.
Earlier in the afternoon session Gloucestershire had lost their fourth wicket when Will Tavare was lbw to Abi Sakande for 10.
