Paul Edwards at Somerset v Lancashire 131-1
As so often this season, Lancashire are getting themselves out of trouble and it does not worry them in the slightest if the pace of scoring does not please the home spectators. As the ball has aged, both Haseeb Hameed and Liam Livingstone have looked more comfortable against the spinners and Hameed has collected his third fifty in his last six championship innings. Grumbles about his scoring rate are outweighed by the importance of the opener remaining at the wicket and this has actually been the most fluent and well-organised of his three half-centuries.
