I think any sensible Worcs fan would agree with you Staggy, even if it means our promotion remains in the balance
by Beth Watson9/21/2017 2:34:06 PM
The correct result at Northants. is Notts. losing, I don't care who you support. Even Notts.

The fight for Morkel could be very interesting over the winter... especially as he's back in the test hotseat
by NemoUKS9/21/2017 2:30:09 PM
How does it look for more play today at Northants? Anyone here down there? I have conflicting feels about the desired result, as promotion is essential, but to finish top of the division would also be great.
by ukoln9/21/2017 2:29:57 PM
imagine getting Amla, Morkel and AB in on Kolpacks.....heads would explode
by Joe Williams9/21/2017 2:29:10 PM
The other option for Surrey is to get The Badger back in run-scoring form. He wouldn't replace Sanga alone, but should be close to 1000 runs a season when functioning. Agree on the Amla and Morne suggestions.
by PT10799/21/2017 2:29:04 PM
Seeing as what Surrey actually need is some bowling, doesn't Morne Morkel make total sense, even as a Kolpak?
by Will Colwell9/21/2017 2:28:08 PM
Could be Amla again he's been there before
by Dav3theRav39519/21/2017 2:28:00 PM
@NemoUKS that, is actually a good point. If you could get AB for a whole season he could fill those shoes - good call on Younis Chris too
by Joe Williams9/21/2017 2:27:02 PM
Both good suggestions... I hope Alec Stewart is reading! Still a massive hole to fill for both of them though.
by dez dezzy9/21/2017 2:26:51 PM
Dave Knibb needs the star comment award for that -48 line. Nearly choked on my tea
by PT10799/21/2017 2:26:51 PM
Younis Khan anyone?
by Chris Cayenne9/21/2017 2:26:04 PM
@JoeWilliams - yeah Kohli's an obvious one given he wants to play in England but he'll only be available for a couple of games
by dez dezzy9/21/2017 2:23:47 PM
Ageing, looking to feather a nest, heading towards the international cricket exit door? Hello AB De Villiers, how are you?

@dezdezzy without Sir Kumar of Sangakarra in that team, Surrey could struggle next year. I'd mentioned on a blog a few weeks ago that replacing those runs is only possible by signing someone like Kohli, as I genuinely don't see another better or equal player out there
by Joe Williams9/21/2017 2:20:43 PM
Are there any other retired Test players out there of a vaguely similar calibre? Chanderpauls already with Lancs.
by dez dezzy9/21/2017 2:20:25 PM
Onions, Salt and Pringle providing a fun trio there
by Will Colwell9/21/2017 2:20:14 PM
The thought of Tom Kohler-Cashmore next season, struggling to break into the first team only to then play minor division county cricket, is the best kind of karmic thought.
by ukoln9/21/2017 2:19:32 PM
Not sure any counties have announced their overseas for next season have they? Usually a winter job
by NemoUKS9/21/2017 2:19:28 PM
Cameron Steel probably.
