@SB I'm getting pretty nervous about Northants at the mo, it's getting near to a challenging total. It's so overcast in Northampton as well, we should have won it by now.

Westley have played 7 Test Innings, people seem to have it in for him. I don't think that is enough
by nickcricket9/7/2017 4:02:44 PM
Now Stoneman seems pretty safe, but this is D-Day for Westley. But then, Mike Gatting scored his first Test century in his 31st Test, 54th Innings. Are we giving players enough chances?

good stat on commentry, best 6 wicket haul at Lords in a test. Stokes 6 for 22
by Lawrence Payne9/7/2017 3:59:19 PM
Stokes tends not to bowl much when things are going well, has been a lot more economical this summer. Used to bowl a bad ball an over, does have decent gas as well so will be important in Aus

And Stokes bowled about 8 overs since that SB comment
by Joe Tompkins9/7/2017 3:54:52 PM
I'll be honest here, i've always been very critical of Stokes bowling, i've never bought into the hype at all. But that was the best spell of bowling by him i've ever seen, fair play to him.
by Dave Knibb9/7/2017 3:54:30 PM
Do they do assists in cricket?
by StaggerBreaths9/7/2017 3:54:10 PM
Yeah it said it in interview, wanted to learn from Sidebottom ect. England's white ball comittments haven't really allowed him to be there that much although he may get more. I wouldn't have been surprised if he had missed the ODI squad
by nickcricket9/7/2017 3:51:44 PM
Stokes 9th player on both honours boards

David Willey primarily joined Yorkshire because he believed it would help him get in the Test team, he openly admitted it (in Northampton at least).

by nickcricket9/7/2017 3:47:20 PM
Anderson deserved a wicket last over but ends up catching the 9th ofStokes, not sure he will get another over to take the 500, Windies clueless against swinging ball

Stokes and StaggerBreaths, a truly wonderful partnership.

Yorkshire won't want to let him good because he will put a lot of bums on seats for the T20 next year after what he did this year
by nickcricket9/7/2017 3:43:45 PM
With David Willey it will depend how much he wants to be succesful in FC Cricket for its own sake. Can't see him ever getting a Test call. He can make a very good living at a T20 player because for that he is perfect can bat in the top order and bowl his four overs and is very good value for any team that wants him
by nickcricket9/7/2017 3:42:38 PM
yeah good spot :)

by Lawrence Payne9/7/2017 3:40:31 PM
In fairness to Rhodes, he is moving for the chance to play first team Cricket. Waite has jumped him in the queue for the all rounder slot. He may kick on, played a lot for the England u19s but it looks unlikley he will get further honors
by nickcricket9/7/2017 3:39:51 PM
What on earth is a sun bathing python though??
by dez dezzy9/7/2017 3:39:38 PM
@Joe I wouldn't be suprised if Warks sign more, maybe a couple of Kolpaks and Rhodes will be back to Second XI Cricket.
