What's the story behind D'Oliveira suddenly batting in the middle order in the Champo? Bumpy wants his son George to get a bit of recognition?

Little known story about Sunil Gavaskar. Back in the days when match reports were dictated by phone there would be numerous mistakes. One one occasion, a girl dictating the report wasn't a cricket fan and misheard his name so in the next days paper he was called Sir Neil Gavaskar...!!!

iirc 2 of powell's centuries came in the same game against bangladesh?
by Rob Little9/7/2017 1:54:30 PM
It amazes me how Powell has got 3 Test centuries. Reminds me a bit of Chetan Chauhan for India, opened in 40 Tests yet never scored a century but had 10 century partnerships with Gavaskar.

Been out fifteen times between 20 and 49 in the last 40 innings, according to Samson - so you're absolutely right.

Vithushan Ehantharajah at Northants 426 v Sussex 172 & 210-6
Incredible scenes here at Wantage Road. Somehow, Sussex have managed to turn 173 for two to 193 for six! Ridiculous really. Angus Robson, pressing forward, offered up too much of his edge to Simon Kerrigan, who found turn out of the footholes from over the wicket to the right-hander. Luke Wright was next to go, somehow playing a picture-perfect forward defence and losing two of his stumps. Two balls later, Ben Brown was walking back after being trapped in front. He felt wronged by his caught behind dismissal in the first innings but there was little to contest today. Jordan was then caught walking across his stumps by Simon Kerrigan. Watching this carnage has been Chris Nash, who has moved to an accomplished half-century.
