Sussex 212-8 trail Glamorgan by 82 runs
Glamorgan’s seamers thrived on the overhead cloudy conditions and a pitch of indifferent bounce to take six wickets in the morning session at Colwyn Bay. At lunch the visitors were 212 for 8 still trailing by 82 runs.
Angus Robson failed to add to his overnight score of 44, before he was bowled, offering no stroke to Rory Smith’s medium pace, then Luke Wright, who was dropped at slip off Smith on 1, was the next to go when he was comprehensively yorked by Smith. Chris Nash, who struck nine fours, mainly off Michael Hogan, appeared to be in control until he dabbed at a wide ball from Craig Meschede that carried to second slip.
Sussex captain Ben Brown attempted to hold the innings together, but he lost another partner when Chris Jordan who had repeatedly played and missed against the seamers, played a loose stroke and was bowled by Lukas Carey for 10.
Brown reached his fifty from 57 balls, with nine fours, but Sussex lost their eighth wicket when David Wiese, driving at Hogan was caught behind for 12. At the interval, Brown was undefeated on 53, and Ollie Robinson 10.
