Middlesex 45-1 v Warwickshire 334
An injury to Nick Compton added to Middlesex's worries as they went into lunch on 45 for one in reply to Warwickshire's 334 on the second day of their Specsavers County Championship match at Edgbaston.
Having seen opening partner Sam Robson fall lbw to Keith Barker's second ball the innings, Compton took a painful knock on the knee from a delivery by Rikki Clarke then appeared to be hit in the same place by one from Barker.
After soldiering on for a while he retired hurt on 12 leaving Steve Eskinazi and Dawid Malan to see their side through to lunch.
Warwickshire had resumed this morning on 302 for seven and they added another 32 runs in 9.4 overs. They advanced to 330 for seven before the last three wickets fell quickly, triggered by a brilliant return catch by Tim Murtagh to dismiss Keith Barker for 49 (87 balls, seven fours).
Tom Helm had George Panayi caught behind and then Murtagh trapped Boyd Rankin lbw to finish with three for 85.
