Crane needs to get that double bouncer going
by nickcricket7/5/2017 11:48:24 AM
Blimey, that Umeed dismissal was a good ball wasn't it? To get it to shape away from that line and length can't be easy.
by Sam Inglis7/5/2017 11:41:26 AM
Fazakerley is from Guernsey I believe, must be the first in CC history I'd have thought.
by mdpayne877/5/2017 11:41:22 AM
Trott just ducked a bouncer from Helm that only just missed his helment and got to the keeper basically on the second bounce.

Lad on bowling for Leicestershire with the last name Fazackerly. Possibly the finest surname in the Championship.

@StaggerBreaths Tall, gets awkward bounce and has a bit of pace. Like crack to England selectors.

I prefer stupid bounce Lord's to nothing doing Lord's.
by StaggerBreaths7/5/2017 11:34:58 AM
Good to hear re. Helm, didn't really understand why the Lions fancied him so much. Guess that explains some of it.
by StaggerBreaths7/5/2017 11:34:30 AM
One to Umeed kept very low. Going to be tough chasing on this track.
by SDHoneymonster7/5/2017 11:33:58 AM
Crane also bowling very nicely, which you can watch over on the Surrey website.
by SDHoneymonster7/5/2017 11:33:02 AM
So Durham are doing okay this innings, eh?
by StaggerBreaths7/5/2017 11:32:45 AM
Helm bowling beautifully, watching the live stream. Pinned Umeed with an unplayable one and just whizzed one past Hain's nose. Give it a watch here www.youtube.com
by SDHoneymonster7/5/2017 11:32:21 AM
@Lord K well, they will have only themselves to blame if all of their promising youngsters up sticks and move to different counties.

Hi gents, what are we tal- noooooope.
by StaggerBreaths7/5/2017 11:30:14 AM
@Sam that's fair enough but they should just admit it rather than trying to ignore it and coming up with feeble excuses. still cricket isn't football and it's much more interconnected with locality, seeing players who you may have played with or against playing and winning for your county means so much more than a bunch of mercenaries winning it for you

Well to be fair if I was a Hants fan I too would probably rather be winning than doing the right thing, but the criticism is fair.
by Sam Inglis7/5/2017 11:27:54 AM
haha no defence so gives up. we all know. if hants fans , I assume u are, don't want face up to 7 players of non UK origin playing so be it.
by Lord K7/5/2017 11:26:39 AM
Hampshire just got to hold on for a few more runs, Burns will soon be into the 90s and therefore he'll get out. Think it's only Hales who promptly panics quite so much in the 90s quite so much as Burns.
by SDHoneymonster7/5/2017 11:25:41 AM
Anyway, this conversation is boring. It's been had countless times and no one will ever convince anyone. Continue bashing Hampshire all you like, I have better things to do now. Have a good day.
by Matt Warwick7/5/2017 11:25:23 AM
is wood a kid? what about the batch before this lot of 'kids'?
by Lord K7/5/2017 11:24:15 AM
Because they are not ready for Div 1 cricket? Chucking a load of kids into the mixer may sound noble but is unlikely to be good for either them or the players themselves.
by Matt Warwick7/5/2017 11:23:19 AM
Topley, Hart, Stevenson all poached from other counties. Salisbury an emergency signing who is from the Essex system and doesn't have a contract. As for all those hometown players why the need for 7 non UK players then? when did Adams come through the system btw. 20 years ago. talk about barrel scraping!
by Lord K7/5/2017 11:22:52 AM
Yes but if they have all this great homegrown talent, why aren't they playing?
by Sam Inglis7/5/2017 11:20:36 AM
Vince is a Wiltshire boy too. Between Hants, Gloz and Somerset stealing all our youth how will Wiltshire ever be able to step up to replace Glammy when Wales choose to break away from the ECB?
by SDHoneymonster7/5/2017 11:20:13 AM
Jimmy Adams, James Vince, Liam Dawson, Joe Weatherley, Tom Alsop, Lewis McManus, Mason Crane, Brad Taylor, Chris Wood. All through the system. Reece Topley, Ryan Stevenson, Asher Hart, Matt Salisbury also all young English players.
by Matt Warwick7/5/2017 11:19:22 AM

What was it that Bransgrove actually said? I remember people being livid about his comments relating to Durham's relegation, but never actually saw the statement.
