@StaggerBreaths Do love a good unique demonym, me. Personal favourites include Burkinabe (Burkina Faso), Monegasque (Monaco) and Azeri (Azerbaijan).

Moses Kofi Anafie. Kofi I believe means he was born on a Monday.

Yeah I'm not going to pretend I know what an authentically Ghanaian name looks like (I even had to check the demonym). Likewise for Vanuatu.

@StaggerBreaths In fairness Ghana are seemingly made up entirely of home-grown players, lots of Akan names in there. When in Ghana a couple of years ago I did see some cricket being played, interestingly.

Don't lose heart Middlesex, easy for heads to go down after this record breaking partnership but if they are only one wicket from the tail. What 17 is a record?

Quite interesting looking through the division 5 scorecards for any surnames that come from the home country, rather than a family originating from a cricket-playing nation. (Harder for Jersey, mind.) Italy have a Petricola batting.

Warwickshire cowering every time spin takes a wicket as they know Big Dom Bess is out for blood when he comes on to bowl.

No excuses for Wood not getting a five-fer, mind. Milne doesn't even usually play for NZ in Tests.

I don't think its fair that Hampshire don't have to play against Kumar Sangakkara, it unbalances the competition more than the division two sides not playing each other twice

Germany have a 46 year old currently batting. Hope for us all.
If we take ten innings as the cut-off, the list goes: Ballance Cook (Roy but only 5 innings) Stoneman Livingstone Burns Westley Browne Robson. Second div. is Wells Samit Denly Colly Mullaney Northeast Brown Duckett, the latter of whom only averages 49.

Doesn't take much for Essex to look light on bowling all of a sudden, no Amir or ten Doeschate but looking forward to seeing young Cook bowl (and yes that is Sam Cook not Alastair)

Just looking at the batting averages, and the two highest England-qualified players in the first division are Ballance... and Simon Kerrigan. #KegsforEngland
