Yes, all teams need one Hain sort of player. We have got Hameed and his sidekick, Croft.

Unfortunately right now, Aneesh, both Yorkshire and Middlesex probably want theirs to GERRONWIVIT

And actually Middlesex have two as well, Robbo and Compo.

Haha SB, but I would gladly take a couple of the stonewallers. The batting order of Lancs is just fragile and inconsistent, apart from the Great Wall of Bolton.
by Aneesh Kumar9/2/2016 1:50:19 PM
Hameed is worth two of any other blocker. Apart from Ballance who's worth three.
by StaggerBreaths9/2/2016 1:51:29 PM
SB, Ballance compensates for Gale who is no one's idea of a batsman.
by Aneesh Kumar9/2/2016 1:52:16 PM
I don't think Hameed has every played a one day game though has he? At least not a registered List A one. We'll agree to disagree about Hain being in the ODI side. The progress we've made in the last 18 months is enough to show me we don't need to take a step back to include Hain's style (fine a batsman as he is) (and I'm someone who used to defend Trott's place and role in the OSI set up!)
by Robert Stow9/2/2016 1:52:39 PM
One day game is too way too silly for the great Hameed to play. Don't even get me started on T20.

I've revised my CCLB Power List by the way, put myself in at last because I comment so bloody much when I'm here. Top ten:

I'm right in saying that bad light is no longer offered to the batsman and that it's the umpire's call now isn't it? Though can imagine Gale and Bally happily walking off if offered bad light even in these conditions

@SB, rightly so, but you have overlooked Keaton Jennings in your list!
by Aneesh Kumar9/2/2016 1:57:46 PM
Jennings has stopped being a joke though, and unfortunately Steadzzman doesn't come here so often so the joke that he's actually good now isn't as funny as it should be. :(
