Filthy ball that got Harinath. Had to push miles outside leg to reach it. Dawson cursing his luck with all the chances missed off him.

middx did bat brilliantly though. especially fuller, when middx seemed out of it.

It goes in with the whole Brendon McCullum philosophy of pushing the players as hard a possible and putting them in pressure situation and them better for it in the long term.

Another chance missed off Dawson. He's lying on his back in despair!

And that's tea, as we stroll to a draw that is very useful for Surrey and no disaster for Hampshire, either.

Been such an odd season as a Surrey fan but I suppose I should be happy with Division 1 safety and a white ball final?

@Yaacov. If Yorkshire play like they have been doing the past few games and beat Somerset then go down and do the business against Middlesex, how can they not deserve it, although other permutations could win them it. Especially considering how effected they have been by England call ups all year. With Siddy and Brookes (who's taken 30 wickets since his return 5 FC matches ago) back Yorkshire have looked class with the ball and their batsmen seem to be hitting their form at the business end of the season. Add to that Plunkett, Rashid & Willey will be available for the remaining games basically makes it an international standard bowling line up for the others to deal with. Gonna be a real top end to the County season. I just hope the weather doesn't intervene in any matches and stays good for everyone.

Freddie Lynch - Good evolution of the team as well. Burns at the top, Foakes first seasons as full time keeper, seem to have a balanced bowling attack with a decent number of options. Ansari injury record is a bit worrying but could just be a phase

If Yorkshire win the next two they will deserve it, especially at Lords given its lack of results this season

Not a disaster for Hampshire, but still desperately struggling with a draw.

Yep, I don't really mind who wins (as long as it's Somerset) but rainfall ruining the rest of the season would be a massive shame
by NemoUKS9/9/2016 2:24:38 PM
An argument can be made fro whichever County wins the title race that they deserved for X, Y and Z. Ultimately, you rarely get a winner who doesn't deserve it, especially over the course of an entire season. What does irk me slightly though, is the "Yorkshire have had X amount of players missing to England". Yes, they have, most are on some sort of contract and therefore Yorkshire get a pretty penny, which has in turn enabled them to sign other high profile players. So, they are benefitting as much as they are losing by the system

Looking at the remaining fixtures I cannot decide who is the favourite to go down with Notts especially if Hants beat Durham at home in their final game. As others have said - let's hope that the weather doesn't have the final say
