Incidentally top Cowan from the nightwatchman there.

Wonder if Jake Lehmann will play in the TV game on Thursday, will be hard for one or two of the lads who have helped Yorkshire get into that game to miss out for a returning England player

Eskinazi drops Stoneman. I have always said that Middlesex is like the England team in miniature.

the availability of England players for Yorkshire will be key. I assume Root will either play for England or be rested, the same for Bairstow, but Balance will be back in contention? The flip side being that Willey, plunked and Rashid will be unavailable for the rest of the season due to the odis/t20?

plunked, is of course Plunkett

StaggerBreaths - Always thought they were more like Yorkshire, Not just the reliance on Root and Bairstow but a talented but failing top order bailed out with all rounder (Bresnan, Plunkett, Rashid)

there has been a lot of bailing this season for Yorkshire as well. I was actually surprised to see young Rhodes shipped out on loan. I appreciate he is an all rounder not a batsman, but he was batting top 6 and they are so short on batters...

@nickcricket I think Lehmann is unavailable for the One Day / T20 games.

it is my understanding that no new players can be registered for the T20. some strange ECB ruling to prevent teams from getting marque players for the biggest day of the County Season... hang on, is that really a reason? I know Middlesex couldn't replace McCullum for the quarters due to the obscure rule anyway...

dave - Said today that Yorkshire's England players will be allowed to play the White ball games, but for the CC its slim picking. Only a small chance Bairstow will be dropped instead of rested
by nickcricket8/15/2016 12:57:12 PM
@dave that's right, rule put in place to stop teams getting to finals day and suddenyl walking out with Kohli, ABD and Gayle in their batting line up (if they could pay them enough like)

dave - Agree on Rhodes, given they will lose Plunkett and Rashid would have thought they would have wanted him. Good luck to him at Essex, doesn't seem to have been needed at all this match
