Jon Culley at Warwickshire v Hampshire 304-4
A patch of light drizzle has delayed the start here, so light that you suspect the players would continue were they in the middle already. The delay will only be 15 minutes. Not sure what Hampshire's tactics will be here. They have 14 overs in which to find 46 runs for another batting point but sent in Mason Crane as nightwatchman, which suggests a more conservative approach.

David Hopps at Middlesex 74-3 v Somerset 236
Somerset are making better use of their gamble on a green pitch this morning. Steve Eskinazi hit the first ball of the day, from Craig Overton, to midwicket and Peter Trego has just caused Dawid Malan to play on. Malan and Nick Gubbins have a great record against Somerset - Malan is gone, Gubbins remains.
@impsound - i agree re raising prize money for the Championship.

ECB disciplinary decisions
The England and Wales Cricket Board’s Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) today confirmed that Richard Jones, Kyle Abbott and Joe Clarke have received penalties under the ECB’s Directives.
All three players were reported by umpires Jeremy Lloyds and Graham Lloyd during the Specsavers County Championship match between Worcestershire and Leicestershire on 3rd - 6th July 2016.
Clarke was reported for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action). Jones and Abbott were each reported for Level One breaches of the code (abuse of cricket ground, equipment or fixtures/fittings).
The penalty for each of these offences is a reprimand.
These penalties will remain on their records for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine, 18 or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
