Lancashire 246 for 5 lead Durham by 159 runs
Lancashire’s Luke Procter scored his second century of the season and the third of his career during the third afternoon against Durham at Southport.
Procter has scored the first century of this fascinatingly poised Specsavers County Championship fixture, an unbeaten 109 off 252 balls.
He has underpinned Lancashire’s tea-time score of 246 for five from 89 overs of their second innings, which means a lead of 159.
Durham struck twice this afternoon, both wickets going to off-spinner Adam Hickey, who had Steven Croft caught at deep mid-on and Karl Brown caught at short-leg to leave the score at 209 for five after 73 overs.
Procter reached his century off 235 balls, although he had a life on 73 when Hickey failed to collect the ball thrown to him from the cover region at the non-striker’s end with the left-hander well short of his ground.
Tom Moores is the other unbeaten batsman on 15, including a straight six off Scott Borthwick before Durham took the new ball.
