David Hopps at Middlesex 70-0 v Yorkshire 406
Early indications are that Middlesex can wrest control of this game in the final two sessions of the second day. A slow pitch has a little bit in it for the seamers, but Yorkshire have started poorly and Sam Robson, in particular, looks in mint form, a chipped straight six into the sightscreen against the offspin of Azeem Rafiq indicating his confidence.
We have had a bit of a to-do with a wandering spectator behind the bowlers' arm who was treated to the traditional religious chant of "Sidd'aarn" and the hold-up was sorted out just before Jason Gillespie wandered up to the BBC radio shack to do a stint of commentary. The way things are going, the "Hello, Dizzy Lad" greetings on the way there could be replaced by "Sort 'Em Out Gillespie" on the way back. Middlesex going well.
