If Somerset had the reputation of being a spinning wicket, people would soon pick a couple of spinners and batsmen would start playing more sensible. Those that were at Taunton last week stated that a lot of the shots were poor rather than being the pitch. Ian Bell even said it wasn't that bad.

Are there any good young Surrey players coming through. I only ask because Surrey are again taking big name players from other counties. I ask this a Surrey fan who hopes we are developing new talent.

Then they moustache-k him to bat slower.

@John Beyond the well known names? Pope made his debut a few weeks ago and is England U19 I believe. Plus there's a third Curran who opens the batting...

@John isn't that Surreys age old problem. They keep spunking the london weighting on overseas players and stunt the growth of there own tallent (currans aside)?
by tomarse999/12/2016 10:41:20 AM
John - Does seem like their isn't, I read published notes of a meeting some Surrey members had with the management team where they said they felt they needed more credit for the amount of homegrown players they had well its going to be all change next season. They signed those two lads from South Africa at the start of the season because they felt there wasn't any bowlers coming though and now they have signed to establish batsmen and hope Sanga will return
