Vithushan Ehantharajah at Hampshire 11-0 v Nottinghamshire
Morning from the Ageas Bowl, where Notts have decided to bowl first, allowing Jake Ball to give Michael Carberry an absolute seeing to. Commencing at the Pavilion End, Ball beat the ball of Michael Carberry from over the wicket, before finding his edge second ball. Chris Read, however, was unable to take a diving catch, which took him to in front of first slip. He's since moved to around the wicket – strange move, I thought – but has still been nipping the ball just out of the reach of both left-handers (Jimmy Adams is opening up with Carberry). You'll no doubt have a poll of some sort later on in the day about who should replace Ben Stokes if he's not fit for the second Test. I'd say pick an allrounder, but the case for throwing Ball in and pushing everyone up a place is understandable. He's more than ready to take Test wickets.
