@WillColwell Ah, I feel like an idiot now. If someone had said before that they were going to make sure it was the best then I would have been strongly in favour!

Whatever the merits of the new T20 competition, the parallels with the Big Bash are surely quite flawed. A city-based competition works in Aus because there are only half a dozen big cities. Who eg. from Liverpool would support a Manchester team?
by Sam Inglis9/15/2016 10:48:59 AM
Michael Vaughan will make sure it is the best even before it is announced. Cricket is in safe hands now. Bring it on!! Make T20 great again.

Sounds like a hashtag I can get behind/laugh at. #MakeT20GreatAgain
by StaggerBreaths9/15/2016 10:50:07 AM
@Sam, Exactly, never mind liverpool. I am not sure how many of us Lancs from Preston and Bolton would support Manchester.
by Aneesh Kumar9/15/2016 10:50:23 AM
@AneeshKumar nail on the head, i'm not supporting Leeds anything.
by Joe T Williams9/15/2016 10:50:58 AM
Middlesex are clearly sacrificing their reputation, shaming their fans & scorning the chance of a win simple to take the title race down to a thrilling final round - am I alone in wanting to praise Middlesex for their Machiavellian self-sacrifice?
by Antony_Melvin9/15/2016 10:51:02 AM
Think of Birmingham team for a moment. An Aston Villa fan would be so happy to say he supports Birmingham cricket team., wouldn't he?
by Aneesh Kumar9/15/2016 10:51:05 AM
But isn't that the case with County Cricket anyway? There isn't just 18 counties in the UK. I'm from Wiltshire but support Somerset (essentially the same anyway)
by jacobnewbury9/15/2016 10:51:06 AM
That's a belter of a comment by the way Will.
by StaggerBreaths9/15/2016 10:51:11 AM
I cant think of a player that is more loved by his former county supporters than Jos Buttler
by Mark Boyle9/15/2016 10:51:18 AM
I think a lot of people would come round to the City system if I'm honest, you don't see people from other parts of Warks. refusing to get behind the Bears.
by StaggerBreaths9/15/2016 10:51:53 AM
@MarkBoyle If he helps win this for Lancs then he'll be even more loved.
by Sam Dyer9/15/2016 10:52:04 AM
Anyway, isn't Chris Woakes an Aston Villa fan?
by Matt Warwick9/15/2016 10:52:39 AM
Probably helps that Buttler never plays Somerset
by nickcricket9/15/2016 10:52:42 AM
@StaggerBreaths To be fair, how many are actually truly aware that they are not going to watch 'Warwickshire' at the T20?
by Sam Dyer9/15/2016 10:52:47 AM
@MattWarwick Judging by the fact that he looks permanently on the verge of tears, probably
by Will Colwell9/15/2016 10:53:06 AM
Bell is Aston Villa through and through I think.
by Aneesh Kumar9/15/2016 10:53:20 AM
The City system should work - but if it down then surely the county domestic T20 bash will end
