Chris Willett - Good first post, The Somerset chairmen has suggested that option 4 (City teams) doesn't mean there won't be matches at Tauton. So it could be that there will be a team from the South West that will move around? We won't know until the details start to come out

Hopefully they go up against the Boycott Rhubarbs and the Blofeld Buses... No, Wait, Pigeons... No, Hang On, Who Are They Again?s.

Assume Vince will captain the Vaughan team, bat 3, open the bowling and stand at slip?

As he is such a self effacing chap I imagine it might just be VAUGHAN

Vaughan's team will have to leave 80% of the delivers in the first power play as a homage to the owner

@jacobnewbury -- possibly nothing -- but as others have pointed out the new competition risks alienating people from the cities that aren't chosen. Maybe it would have been an idea to base some of the franchises in cities that currently don't get much high-quality cricket: Liverpool, Sheffield, Plymouth? (I'm tempted to add Derby...)

Very Amazing Unbeaten Great Hitters And... I am stuck on the last word.

Nasser (just for a laugh)

@Nick, Vince would be the captain of vaughan's team. Carrying on the proud tradition of chasing the balls outside off.
by Aneesh Kumar9/15/2016 11:02:35 AM
@SamInglis They won't do that because those cities don't have high enough capacity grounds.

@nickcricket Let's hope that's the case - although as some have suggested, I think I would struggle to build an affinity with a new franchise-type team. If they go down this route, they absolutely have to provide free-to-air coverage, otherwise cricket will slowly die in the outposts.

Could they not use drop-in pitches at football stadiums? It will be in the summer...

Which non Test grounds have the greatest capacity?
