@Mark I don't know about that one in particular, but there are plenty of football grounds that are big enough.

I don't go to football matches but isn't the shape of the pitch wrong for cricket?
by Mark Boyle9/15/2016 11:11:43 AM
If that Times list is correct, which team are we poor East Anglians supposed to follow? Nottingham? One of the London sides?
by Sam Inglis9/15/2016 11:12:13 AM
Derby don't seem to mind, they are busy selling Elton John concert tickets in Twitter.

@aneesh - they don't mind, they're getting over a million from.the ECB

@SamInglis Exactly my point, from the other end of the country! Cricket will contract rather than expand. I can't envisage the current Blast surviving alsongisde it - how many people will go and watch what will effectively be a Second XI competition?

Cant think that Nat West will be overly chuffed
by Mark Boyle9/15/2016 11:15:58 AM
@Chris, if they do hold Blast and T20 competition at the same time, it might be a good idea to have matches in outgrounds. That atleast will help cricket and us poor fans
by Aneesh Kumar9/15/2016 11:16:42 AM
@AneeshKumar It would certainly help a little, although the standard wouldn't be the same in all probability. And on another note, I don't think the fans come into the thinking sometimes!!
by Chris Willett9/15/2016 11:18:33 AM
Which are the outgrounds now?
by Mark Boyle9/15/2016 11:18:36 AM
I suppose that we as followers of county cricket are not the target audience for this new competition really. My teenage son got very into the IPL and followed whichever team it was that Chris Gayle played for. Quite likely he and many others would do the same with a city-based competition here if it attracted the stars.
by Sam Inglis9/15/2016 11:18:53 AM
They be county 1st XI teams in the Blast and then franchises with player auctions in the new comp
