David Hopps at Kent 218-5 v Sussex 180
Michael Henderson is taking a bit of a battering on Twitter this morning - not to forget Welcome to Yorkshire and Scarborough Council - for his comments about the Queen of Resorts. The cricket ground is wonderful, but the town is appallingly tatty was Hendo's judgment in The Times. Cricket's No. 1 polemicist appears less often these days but when he does a reaction often follows.
Hendo was at Hove yesterday where he regaled us with his opinions on Scarborough tat. He is not about to defend himself on social media, which he does not care for, but while his opinions on Scarborough seemed unduly one-sided to this biaised Yorkie, he does have a point about the faded glory of the 5-star hotels which entirely lack ambition and would be better being sold to those who possess it.
No wickets at Hove so far, but @legsidelizzy has arrived full of news and views as ever. Well worth a follow.
hmmm, bit intrusive that pic, it may have to have the delete button as i am here
@TomHarle - Indeed they are, I wander around them quite regularly. There again, the last time I did, I was looking for my 88-y-o Dad who had gone AWOL
@StaggerBreaths, Oh yes. There is no tragic final chapter. Also became unnerved on Tuesday night when he wasn't answering his phone. Turned out he had gone to Ripon races. "Always wanted to go to a race meeting," he said. He won £42. Not many people have beginner's luck at 88.
