JonoL.....poor reverse mockers form there old chap!
by Joe T Williams9/22/2016 10:14:46 AM
Jono - top mocking effort there. We all know one wicket changes things massively once a new ball is available.
by kieranhdean9/22/2016 10:14:50 AM
Can see TRJ getting a couple with the new ball

Well spotted! (I'm that desperate!) It's a shame that we've signed Steven Davies because Ryan has really improved this last month. Stephen has come to keep wicket when we just need him as a batter.
by JonoLuxton9/22/2016 10:16:20 AM
This is too much I'm off to walk the dog!
by JonoLuxton9/22/2016 10:16:58 AM
Not sure why Middlesex have any fielders in front of the bat for Rafiq, leave a big space then take the catch when he tries a big drive. Hasn't middled one all day
by nickcricket9/22/2016 10:17:22 AM
@JonoLuxton Ryan probably to stay for white ball cricket. I hope so.
by Geoff Eisenhauer9/22/2016 10:17:22 AM
I really wouldn't worry too much about the two Davies solution. There are plenty of games and both will get a go with the gloves, and probably the two will play together in white ball cricket at least
by NemoUKS9/22/2016 10:17:38 AM
New ball time then. The next half an hour could decide the championship, no exaggeration at all.
by NemoUKS9/22/2016 10:19:05 AM
A club with Somerset's ambitions can't really afford to have a keeper who bats at 9 and for whom a flashy 60 is his limit, especially with the byes he ships.
by Will Colwell9/22/2016 10:19:45 AM
It really is ridiculous that this round doesn't have a weekend finish.
by kieranhdean9/22/2016 10:20:51 AM
Ryan is 19 so you would expect him to develop, Somerset have quite a few players like Tresco who only play the CC so there is more space for both Davies in white ball cricket
by nickcricket9/22/2016 10:21:20 AM
If he matures he could easily bat at 6 and although he might be untidy from time to time his keeping will improve and how important was that Patel stumping?
by JonoLuxton9/22/2016 10:21:25 AM
He's 19 years old! Somerset fans seem to judge him as the finished article, fact is that he's a huge prospect that's been forced to play every game as we don't have a senior keeper (Nb: I'm not counting Barrow. I'm just not)
by NemoUKS9/22/2016 10:21:34 AM
@WillColwell Give him time. He's only young.
by Geoff Eisenhauer9/22/2016 10:21:34 AM
Or the Rashid Stumping last week
by nickcricket9/22/2016 10:22:23 AM
Sorry, not writing him off at all - he's clearly very talented - it's just not right to have him as our only keeping option.
by Will Colwell9/22/2016 10:22:24 AM
To be fair a lot of the byes he conceded were at Taunton on ragging tracks - never easy
by Mark Boyle9/22/2016 10:22:47 AM
I've gone from hope to despair to resignation now. Both set batsmen in the next ten overs or the Champo's Yorkshire's for the third time. Sob.
by StaggerBreaths9/22/2016 10:23:00 AM
@StaggerBreaths Blatant mockers! But allowed at the stage of the season.
