Vithushan Ehantharajah at Surrey 637-7 v Hampshire 217-6
Hants, having gone in at lunch on an error when Adam Wheater chipped tamely to cover, have returned with a worse bit of cricket. Lewis McManus pushed into the off side and called through Sean Ervine, who did his best to convince him otherwise. Rory Burns, the only fielder "close" in front of the bat on the off side, gathered perfectly and threw down the stumps, with Ervine well short. And so we arrive at the Hampshire tail which, despite being riddle with allrounders, has not amounted to much this season. At the moment, Berg and McManus are getting a seeing over from Stuart Meaker, who is bowling a brutal spell from the Hotel End. He has simple been too quick for both of these right handers.
