@Dave, I see what you mean, decent middle order bat and bowls some tremendous trundle. Not sure Ravi will ever attain the Stevens physique though

It's been good to see England internationals being allowed to play County Cricket more often this year. With the 2017 schedule it may be a struggle though
by Dan Kendall7/5/2016 1:59:03 PM
or if he will play to post 40!

Hameed meanwhile is rocketing along at a run a ball

Stokes has hit Best for 3 fours in an over.

Barker surely has to be the country's prime purveyor of Tremendous Trundle.

He is also likely to be one of the last professional cricketers called Keith

@Yaacov Playing himself in then.

As Tresco is 'giving it' it Yasser, i can't help but think in a parallel universe where he is still playing for England (probably the same universe where Hildreth debuted instead of Bopara) he would be sitting pretty at the top of the England run charts across all formats. Instead he will have to settle for (hopefully) beating Gimblett's Somerset record, o how things culd have been so different
by dave7/5/2016 2:05:46 PM
Dan Kendall - Yes think next year could be very much like 2015 where the three format guys didn't play at all, Root played one T20 for example and you can't blame the players for wanting a break. I can see why Andrew Strauss wants a larger pool of players, not sure what Bairstow is doing in the T20 sqaud tonight good chance he won't play and should be rested anyway

James Franklin, 12 off 50. One single, one brace, one three, and an entirely incongruous six.

dave - Still has the most ODI hundreds for England and that was with only half the career his talent deserved
by nickcricket7/5/2016 2:08:37 PM
On names, did anyone else read about the name 'Gary' actually dying out. Only 28 people in England and Wales were called Gary in 2013 - www.theguardian.com

Imagine the Ramprakash/Hick partnerships that might have flourished in this parallel universe...
by StaggerBreaths7/5/2016 2:09:39 PM
@nickcricket Agreed, Nick. Let's hope they continue to make the most of it this year, as it certainly puts a lot more on eyes on county cricket which is always welcomed! Bairstow will surely be rested, who will be the other one though? Maybe Chris Jordan to miss out again?
