I can only imagine the blog is modelling itself on the Lord's pitch
Rory Burns will play no further part in the match against Lancs after he took a blow to the helmet at short leg. He has mild concussion and this move is precautionary, I think.

Vithushan Ehantharajah at Hampshire 270 v Nottinghamshire 100-5
Early news today, via Nottinghamshire, is that Chris Read suffered a hand injury last night, courtesy of Tino Best, and will not be keeping wicket for the remainder of the match. It also means he will not resume his innings overnight and retires hurt on eight, which means Dan Christian will join Rikki Wessels (22*) this morning.Wessels will also take the gloves when Nottinghamshire field, while Steven Mullaney will take over on-field captaincy. Notts have stated that Read will bat again "if necessary later in the fixture".

Blimey, cricket seems to have angered the Gods of Pain recently. Sri Lanka and Stokes as well.

Didn't Root keep for England at one point? In addition to, y'know, everything else.
